Del. Norton asked to Intervene and Stop NPS's Eviction of McPherson Square; “Pushout and Bulldozing” scheduled for Wednesday morning February 15, 2023
Downtown Washington, DC — Mayor Muriel Bowser has worked with the National Park Service to push up the de-encampment of McPherson Square from early spring to tomorrow, Wednesday, February 15, 2023. There are about 80 people living at the park and in tents there now.
Pastor Michael Campbell, President & Founder of Rising Voices of Politics, sent a letter to DC representative, Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton asking her to intervene and “stop this Human Rights travesty.”
Ms. Norton can weigh in considering McPherson is federal land and Norton has some influence with the National Park Service.Norton has yet to respond or public weigh in on the matter since its come to substantial public attention.
